Here’s where things get interesting. Every Socage machine comes equipped with IoT (Internet of Things) connectivity that lets both the customer and the Altequip team connect to the machine remotely, where mobile data is available. This means Altequip can monitor the machine condition and run diagnostics support from our HQ, regardless of where the EWP is operating.
Each machine can also be supplied with its own laptop, which Altequip can remotely access via satellite connectivity such as Starlink. That opens up genuine support capability in remote areas where mobile coverage is patchy or non-existent.
If a more complex issue arises, Socage’s engineering team in Italy can also remotely access the EWP laptop. You’re not just getting local support from Altequip; you have the full weight of Socage behind you to ensure your success.
What Happens When Something Needs Fixing?
Say you’re running a machine in Western Australia or the Northern Territory and something needs attention. Altequip’s process is straightforward. Remote diagnostics identify the issue first. Sometimes we can resolve the problem remotely without anyone needing to step foot near the machine.
Remote solvability isn’t always possible. Let’s say a spare part is required – our team will figure out exactly what is required and get it dispatched to your work site. From there, a local service contractor carries out the physical work on Altequip’s behalf.
