Finally, it’s here – Altequip is proud to present the Socage Raptor 35S to the Australian market! We’ve already shipped the first one of these revolutionary spider lift EWPs to a happy customer, and businesses from a wide range of industries are expressing interest.

What makes this EWP for sale so exciting? Traditionally, reaching 35 metres from a tracked platform has meant driving a truck-mounted EWP to site. The Raptor 35S changes that with it’s massive up and over outreach and industry-leading negative reach too.

Today we’re going to look at all these and more statistics and highlight the benefits this machine offers to Australian businesses.

What Is the Socage Raptor 35S?

The Raptor 35S is a diesel-powered, tracked spider lift that sits at the top of Socage’s Raptor EWP range, which Altequip distributes exclusively across Australia. An Italian company, Socage has become an industry leader when it comes to providing innovative and groundbreaking EWP products. Altequip is proud to be their exclusive Australian supplier.

The Raptor 35S is for those looking for serious height with tricky site conditions. It handles tight access and uneven ground with ease, creating a stable base for reliable working at heights.

Let’s take a look at some of the key specs.

Every Raptor 35S elevated work platform comes with the following fitted as standard:

  • Manual hand pump
  • 230V electric socket in the basket
  • Multifunction remote control
  • Auxiliary electric pump (230V, 50Hz)
  • Flanged holding valves

Compact With Impressive Reach

Compactness is where the Raptor 35S really shines. At just 6,195 mm in length, it is the most compact tracked EWP in its class. That’s an impressive size for an EWP that can reach 35 metres – meaning  you can get it onto sites where other elevated work platforms won’t go. It also has a lateral outreach of 21 metres and a negative reach of 11 metres (handy if you’re on a bridge or steep slope that suits above the job).

The hydraulically expandable undercarriage means the tracks can narrow if the machine needs to squeeze through a tight area. The tracks can then be widened for moving across rough terrain or slopes.

The Basket

The basket can take two operators plus their tools thanks to its 300kg capacity. Measuring 1,800 x 700 x 1,100mm, there’s ample room for them to work safely. The basket’s size can be narrowed to fit through tight access points, similar to the tracks.

Operators can make use of an inbuilt 240V socket for their tools, while a 500kg hook helps shift heavy materials at height.

Setup and Operation

The outriggers at the base of the EWP provide the setup with the stability required to work at heights. They also give it the spider-like resemblance that has led to its name.

The impressive feature of these outriggers is the automatic stabilisation and closing. When the EWP is set up, they automatically stabilise the machine. Then, when it’s time to move, they retract again.

A multifunction remote control and electro-hydraulic controls help keep things nice and simple for the operator too. They can focus on their workload, putting full confidence in the EWP to support them as they work.

Who Is This EWP For?

If you want an easily transportable EWP that can navigate tight access yet still reach up to 35 metres upwards, 21 metres out and 11 metres downward, the Socage 35S is worth looking at. This could be:

  • Arborists working around trees and infrastructure.
  • Construction and facilities maintenance teams working on multi-storey buildings, facades, or rooflines.
  • Hire companies looking to add a premium, versatile EWP that covers a wide range of customer requests.
