We opened our Brisbane operations in January 2024. The servicing department was part of the plan from day one – it wasn’t an option to sell premium EWPs without being able to back up our clients with the right technical support.
Altequip also has a direct relationship with Socage that extends further than being a distributor – we’re their technical partner. We’re on the ground for them in Australia, selling their machines and maintaining the standards of excellence they aspire to, on the sales floor and in the workshop.
Factory Trained Technicians
Altequip staff have travelled to Socage’s facility in Italy for hands-on training. Socage’s lead technicians have also come to Australia to train the team on-site. This is something we do regularly, because it’s important to keep our EWP techs current with the latest developments in the Socage EWPs. Technology evolves rapidly, and Altequip keeps pace with it.
Our factory trained technicians have direct remote support from the Socage factory in Italy. If there’s a complex or high-level fault diagnosis that needs factory-level knowledge to resolve, we contact them and we resolve it together.
The Altequip workshop doesn’t operate on generic service procedures. Our team has genuine and deep knowledge of the machines they work on. The best thing – our EWP servicing isn’t limited to Socage machines alone.

- Major inspections: comprehensive assessments covering all critical systems
- 10-year major inspections: a mandatory regulatory requirement for all EWPs. If your machine is approaching this milestone, here’s what is involved.
- Major rebuilds and structural repairs: where structural work is required, repairs are assessed and signed off by a qualified engineer
Parts Readily Available
One of the biggest sources of EWP downtime is waiting for parts to fix the fault. It’s frustrating for everybody involved. To bypass this, Altequip holds a full stock of EWP parts for every machine it sells. Our workshop also carries a large range of machine-specific components that aren’t readily available locally.
