Telescopic Spider Lifts

As Socage’s official distributor, Altequip is proud to present the Raptor ST range of telescopic spider lifts. Combining compact tracked access with a telescopic boom, three different models offer working heights from 12.2 to 17.8 metres.

There’s the compact Raptor 12ST, the fully electric 15STE, or the taller 18ST. Each provides a different working envelope while retaining a 230kg basket capacity across the range. The Altequip team is happy to guide you through the machines to help you decide which is the best fit for your operation.

Why Choose a Telescopic Spider Lift?

Telescopic spider lifts combine compact access, tracked mobility and direct telescopic reach. If access is tight and the terrain is varied on the work sites you normally operate on, a telescopic spider lift from Socage could be a viable option for your fleet of EWPs. Here are a few reasons businesses favour this class of machine:

  • Electric Option: The Raptor 15STE provides fully electric operation for suitable indoor and emissions-sensitive environments.
  • Tight Access:Compact tracked chassis for navigating narrow or restricted work areas.
  • Stable Setup:Spider-style outriggers provide a stable operating base on suitable uneven or sloping ground.
  • Low Ground Pressure: Tracks distribute machine weight across a larger surface area.
  • Telescopic Reach:A straight telescopic boom provides direct vertical and horizontal reach.

The Three Telescopic Models Compared

The Raptor ST range gives you three distinct combinations of height, outreach and access.

The 12ST provides the smallest entry point to the range at approximately 2 tonnes GVW. The fully electric 15STE reaches 14.9 metres and provides the greatest horizontal outreach. The 18ST extends maximum working height to 17.8 metres while retaining the same 230kg basket capacity.

12.2m working height | 8.3m outreach | 230kg basket | 2.0t GVW

The Raptor 12ST is the smallest model in Altequip’s telescopic range. At approximately 2 tonnes GVW, it provides 12.2 metres of working height and up to 8.3 metres of horizontal outreach.

Its basket measures 140 × 70cm with a 230kg capacity, while listed stabilisation dimensions of approximately 3150 × 3000mm provide a useful reference when assessing the space available at the setup location.

14.9m working height | 10.7m outreach | 230kg basket | Fully electric

The Raptor 15STE combines a 14.9-metre working height with the greatest horizontal outreach of the three ST models at 10.7 metres.

It is also the fully electric machine in the range, with a listed 44V, 10.12kWh, 228Ah battery system. At approximately 2 tonnes GVW, the 15STE provides an electric option without sacrificing the 230kg basket capacity used throughout the ST range.

17.8m working height | 8.5m outreach | 230kg basket | 2.2t GVW

The Raptor 18ST provides the greatest working height of Altequip’s three ST models, reaching 17.8 metres with a basket height of 15.8 metres.

Maximum horizontal outreach is 8.5 metres and basket capacity remains 230kg. With a listed GVW of approximately 2.2 tonnes, it extends the vertical working envelope with only a modest increase in machine weight over the smaller ST models.

The Raptor 15STE brings the advantages of fully electric operation to a compact tracked platform.

It offers quieter operation, no engine exhaust emissions at the machine and no need to switch between diesel and electric power when moving between suitable indoor and outdoor environments.

Its 44V, 10.12kWh battery system powers a machine delivering 14.9m working height, an impressive 10.7m maximum outreach and a 230kg basket.

For facilities, warehouses and other emissions- or noise-sensitive sites, the 15STE offers a compelling combination of electric operation, compact access and serious reach.

Site access, floor loading, stabilisation and operating conditions should always be assessed before indoor use.

Where Compact Tracked Access Makes Sense

The ST range combines a tracked undercarriage with a telescopic aerial structure, allowing the machine to be moved into a suitable setup position before its stabilisers are deployed. That makes access to the work area and space to establish the machine important parts of model selection.

Indoor and Facility Maintenance

For suitable indoor environments, compact tracked equipment can provide access to elevated building assets where bringing larger equipment into the work area may not be practical. The electric 15STE adds another option where the operating environment makes electric power desirable.

Building and Property Access

A combination of vertical and horizontal reach can provide access to façades, roofing areas, lighting and other elevated assets without selecting equipment solely on maximum working height.

Installation and Technical Work

Where the target working position is known, the working envelopes of the 12ST, 15STE and 18ST can be compared against the actual height and offset required.

Restricted-Access Worksites

On sites where getting equipment into position is difficult, machine weight, physical access and available stabilisation space can be as important as aerial performance.

What Matters When Choosing a Raptor ST?

Because all three models carry a 230kg basket, the key differences lie elsewhere. Think of the nature of the worksites you frequently attend, and then match it to the specifications of the machines. Here’s what you should be considering.

1

Working Height

The ST range covers working heights from 12.2 metres to 17.8 metres. The 12ST provides the lowest working-height configuration, the 15STE increases this to 14.9 metres, and the 18ST reaches 17.8 metres.

2

Horizontal Outreach

Horizontal reach varies independently of maximum working height. The 15STE provides the greatest stated outreach at 10.7 metres, compared with 8.3 metres for the 12ST and 8.5 metres for the taller 18ST.Where the basket needs to be a distance away from the EWP setup position, horizontal outreach becomes important.

3

Machine Weight

The 12ST and 15STE have a listed GVW of approximately 2.0 tonnes, while the 18ST is approximately 2.2 tonnes. Think about the surfaces the equipment needs to travel over and the conditions at the setup location.

4

Power Source

The operating environment may influence what power configuration you go with. The 15STE is fully electric, which could be ideal for indoor or emissions-sensitive work.

5

Stabilisation Space

A compact machine still needs enough space to extend its outriggers before you lift the basket. The 12ST and 15STE list stabilisation dimensions around 3150 × 3000mm, while the 18ST documentation shows configurations up to approximately 3150 × 3450mm.

6

Site Access

Gates, doorways, paths, terrain, floor conditions and other restrictions can decide whether a machine can reach the work area before its aerial capabilities even come into play. What does access at your worksites normally look like?

Raptor ST FAQs

What is a telescopic spider lift?

A telescopic spider lift combines a tracked undercarriage and stabilisers with a telescopic aerial boom. The tracked base allows the machine to move around suitable worksites before being stabilised, while the telescopic structure provides its elevated working envelope.

The Raptor ST range uses a telescopic boom configuration, while Altequip’s Raptor S models use an articulated boom configuration. This results in different working envelopes and operating characteristics. The appropriate range depends on the access conditions and positions the basket needs to reach.

The current range covers 12.2 to 17.8 metres of working height:

Raptor 12ST – 12.2m
Raptor 15STE – 14.9m
Raptor 18ST – 17.8m

The Raptor 15STE provides the greatest stated maximum outreach at 10.7 metres.
By comparison, the 12ST provides 8.3 metres and the taller 18ST provides 8.5 metres. This is why working height and horizontal outreach should be considered separately.

All three current Raptor ST models have a listed 230kg basket capacity.
Actual operation should always remain within the manufacturer’s load restrictions and working envelope for the machine.

Yes. The Raptor 15STE is fully electric, with a listed 44V, 10.12kWh, 228Ah battery system.
It provides 14.9 metres of working height, 10.7 metres of maximum horizontal outreach and a 230kg basket capacity.

Depending on the model and site conditions, compact tracked equipment may be suitable for indoor work. Machine access, weight, floor loading, stabilisation requirements, surface conditions and power source all need to be assessed for the specific site.

Altequip is the exclusive Australian distributor for Socage and provides servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs for Socage equipment.
